Race - Based Affirmative Action
A week ago, the US Supreme Court voted that race-based Affirmative Action at colleges and universities is unconstitutional because it discriminates against Asian Americans.
Here are my initial feelings about the environment around the decision - these points are made of my lived experience and intuition and is therefore anecdotal:
- Asian Americans resent having black students at their work places and schools and neighborhoods
- Asian Americans were used as a trojan horse, with their implied and active consent, to further the goals of white elite who believe in color blindness
- The culture of considering every black person with an enviable position in society to be a diversity hire will not be changing fast enough to make this decision worth it for the black individual
- to be continued....
